After trading on the higher side on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Thursday, both gold and silver are traded on the lower side today. On a decline of Rs 3 or 0.01 percent, Gold Futures maturing on February 4, 2022 will trade at Rs 48,185 per 10 grams on the MCX.

Meanwhile, silver rates due on March 4, 2022 stand at 62,320 rupees per kg, down 76 rupees, or 0.12 percent.

Gold and silver prices in the international market:

Gold prices hovered around the all-important $ 1,800 an ounce level on the Thursday before the end of the year holidays, according to Reuters, although the dollar stabilized and appetite for riskier assets increased as fears about the consequences of the Omicron coronavirus variant eased .

Spot gold rose 0.4 percent to $ 1,809.89 an ounce by 1841 GMT, while U.S. gold futures rose 0.5 percent to $ 1,811.70 an ounce.

“Gold faces technical resistance at $ 1,815 and $ 1,826, with geopolitical risk on the doorstep and, despite the tapering narrative, potentially supporting gold,” said Nicholas Frappell, a global general manager at ABC Bullion.

According to the metal report, the US Federal Reserve signaled earlier this month that its inflation target had been reached and paved the way for a three-quarter percentage point hike by the end of 2022.

Meanwhile, spot silver rose 0.5 percent to $ 22.89 an ounce.
